Hebrews 11 “Keep the Faith”
Nathan Steele joined us and gave a brief summary of some of the incredible things going on in Africa, including a women’s ministry that makes clothes, a radio station that spreads the gospel to many people, and a seminary school that provides Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctorate degrees in theology!
Nathan then lead us through a study in faith. What separates faith from belief is action. As James says, “Faith without works is dead.” Nathan’s favorite definition of faith is, “hearing God speak and responding with acts of obedience and dependence.” We were reminded that it is impossible to recognize the ways that God speaks and works in our lives if we do not know what to look for. God is not recognizable to us unless we know who God is.
“Faith comes by hearing, hearing the Word of God.” (Romans 10:17) Read the Bible, God’s glorious and illuminating Word, to develop a deeper relationship with Him. Then the task of keeping the faith, obeying Him and being dependent on Him, will consume your life.
