As we talk about relationships the reality of being hurt and hurting others is so obvious. The Scriptures call us to: "Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you." Ephesians 5:32 Jesus is our example in the Process of Forgiveness: - He recognized the problem - (Sin & Broken relationship) - He made Himself vulnerable - (Became human and loved and was hurt) - He experienced the pain and accepted the consequences - (Crucified) - He released us from further obligation - (Jesus covers us!) - He seeks to restore relationship - (He moves toward us!) This is exactly what our process of Forgiveness is - Recognize the problem - Make yourself vulnerable - Accept the consequences - Release the offender from obligation - Seek Relational Restoration
